GeoNorth Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Prince George, B.C.  This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and important projects in diverse soil and rock conditions, while living in a family-friendly community.  Prince George is a vibrant city where its possible to purchase an affordable home, have a 15 minute commute to work and maintain a healthy and engaged work-life balance.  We provide geotechnical engineering services to a wide range of clients across central and northern B.C. and encounter challenging soil and rock conditions such as sensitive marine clay on the coast, weak Cretaceous shale in the Peace Region and normally consolidated glaciolacustrine deposits in the Interior.  We have a well equipped laboratory and in-house SCPTU apparatus with a dedicated, enclosed push-truck.

We’re interested in candidates with an undergraduate or preferably a Masters degree in Geological, Geotechnical or Civil (geotechnical option) Engineering from an accredited university, and at least 10 years of relevant work experience since graduation.  You will take a lead role on a wide variety of transportation, industrial, mining, utility, municipal and commercial projects.  As a Senior Engineer, you will guide internal team members and coordinate with external, multi-discipline groups on all parts of a project from problem definition, solution development, investigation and testing, analysis and reporting. 

The position requires a keen interest in geotechnical and geological engineering, strong technical, organizational and project management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high ethical standards and well developed leadership skills.  Some project work could involve assessments of new development in remote areas of our spectacular province, requiring that you be physically fit with an interest in and ability to travel and hike to remote locations.
